[...] People are still homeless. Jurgen Klinsmann is no longer coach of the German national football team. We are still arguing about “what is a brand?” Shit drivers are still pissing me off. Aussies are still debating about uranium and nuclear energy. Microsoft are still trying to get into the 21st century. BEEZHOUSE is rocking along. Barry Bonds reached 715, and is about to be indicted for perjury. Last.fm rocks. Still haven’t seen the DaVinci Code (nor Harry Potter). Believe that the Aussies were robbed at the FIFA World Cup. Still haven’t replaced my dead iPod. Still believe in the Big Bang and evolution. Israel has moved from shelling ambulances, to shelling (and killing) smurfs. [...]

Hehe...I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that household...I lived under the roof of an avid labour man and the exact opposite in a democrat...me being a liberal...what fun!

At least you're a "liberal" girl ;) Good stuff...Sex and "The Daydreamer" in one sentence I prefer not to even comtemplate! I'll leave that one to you. ;)

Btw...nothing wrong with Harry Potter!

There will be no Labour voters amongst any children I breed, they will be blue blood Liberals all the way or they're out of the will!!

The idea above is to use to the 'lure of sex' that has so easily changed the DayDreamer's reading principles (I am currently working on getting him to read Harry Potter, just for the challenge factor...) to change his skewed political views - it's a longshot, but worth a try I think...

[...] Six months ago I sat down and read The DaVinci Code. Two months for the first hundred pages (like watching paint dry), two nights for the last five hundred. Great story, ignoring a few historical liberties. It only seemed natural I should look forward to the movie. I knew the viewing wouldn’t quite live up to the reading. It couldn’t be that disappointing, could it? [...]

Fact of the matter remains - Angels and Demons is a far better STORY than The DaVinci Code. Disregard the popular history feel and the historical deiscrepancies (despite what Dan Brown claims). Take it with a grain of salt if you wish to regard it historical commentry.

Whilst being a history fan myself and having studied at a tertiary level, I have also taken religious history studies in my time. It is these studies that make me appreciate where The DaVinci Code tries to come from. To assume the 'history' presented by the Catholic Church is not sanitised is naive. In the same vein, a conspiracy theory with such wide ranging implications, whilst somewhat possible, is most improbable. But don't get me started on the vagries interpretation to be found within religion...
